During Lockdown, staying in touch with our families was very important. The texting service was invaluable as were the phone calls we were able to make and receive from many of you. We also added class Twitter 'pages' which have proved very popular with some of you. Along with the school Twitter address, these give another option for keeping in touch either publicly via the main feed or privately through Direct Messaging.
A few guidelines:
Twitter is a free, easy-to-use way to share messages and pictures as those of you who follow us at @RiddingsJnr already know but we are setting a few rules or expectations to support all of us.
Twitter has a user age of 13 and above so our children should not have their own account. The class groups are intended to keep us in contact with our families not with individual children.
Class groups won’t follow parents back (so the rest of your Twitter feed will remain private!)
Teachers retain the right to block and report anyone who behaves in an inappropriate manner or who makes them feel uncomfortable.
Teachers will check Twitter regularly but not on a daily basis so the school office should remain the first point of contact.
Teachers are happy to receive direct messages and will either respond themselves or forward your message to another member of staff if it is more relevant to them. Staff may respond by text, phone call or face-to-face chat if that seems more appropriate.
We’d love it if you could follow us!
Search using our @names - apologies for the slightly different formats but they were assigned by Twitter : )
You’re welcome to follow all of us but as we’re following each other, you’ll see everything we post, share or retweet any way!
