Autumn Term 2025
This half term, we’ll be blasting off on an exciting journey through the solar system! We’ll discover fascinating facts about the planets, learn how gravity keeps us grounded, explore the mysteries of the moon, and find out what causes night and day as well as the changing seasons. Get ready to become young astronomers and reach for the stars! 🚀
In English, we’ll be using our imagination to create and write a non-chronological report all about an imaginary planet – full of amazing facts and exciting details! We’ll also be doing some creative writing linked to our first Book Study, Room 13, where we’ll explore the story and bring our own ideas to life through writing.
In Maths, we’ll be diving into place value, becoming experts with numbers all the way up to a million! We’ll also be building on our knowledge of the four operations – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division – to become confident and skilled mathematicians.
In History, we’ll be deepening our understanding of the First World War, learning about the lives of those who experienced it. We’ll write a heartfelt recount, stepping into the shoes of a British soldier during the famous Christmas Truce. Alongside this, we’ll be reading the beautifully written book The Last Post – a moving story that may even bring a tear to our eyes.
Exciting things to look forward to:
